Rental dealers remain more focused on the day-to-day operations and the competition from several directions than on the legal environment of the RTO industry. However, the RTO industry remains legally challenged on many fronts. Mr. Winn will include a current RTO legal update focusing on recent “hot” developments within the industry as well a discussion of state and federal roundup of issues and strategies for helping to defend against those attacking the RTO model. Among other topics, Winn will discuss amendments to RTO statutes here and there, RTO in the U.K., RTO kiosks, RTO on the Internet, RTO products, taxes and RTO, compliance issues with RTO statutes—agreements, advertising, and price tags, reserve accounts, arbitration, mattress recycling, bed bugs, TCPA compliance, rental thieves, the ADA and RTO websites, and other topics that are or should be on the minds of rental dealers across the country.
