MAJIK Rent to Own celebrated 32 years in business with its annual awards banquet on Saturday January 14, 2017, in Harrisburg PA. Approximately 160 co-workers, spouses, and guests attended the cocktail hour, awards ceremony, and casino night following.
Dan Fisher, the master of ceremonies, and one of the owners of Majik, before announcing the award winners, spoke about the company’s core values, which center around the notion of helping people – whether that would be customers, co-workers, or the community at large.
“We couldn’t have asked for a better finish to the night,” Fisher said. “In case we were wondering if our co-workers embody our core values… we received a resounding, ‘YES’ with our final door prize. That prize was a retired company mini-van and everyone was excited for their chance to win it. A young manager, Alex Lockley, who has been with the company a little over 3 years… held the winning ticket. After shouting and jumping up and down a few times, he immediately came to me and asked me if he could do anything he wanted with the van. When I said, yes, he grabbed the mic from my hand and immediately offered the van to one of his co-workers who has been in need of upgraded transportation”
“It’s difficult to explain how proud I was at that moment,” Fisher added, “ and as you can imagine, there were a lot of tears flowing as well.”
We also appreciated generous door prize donations from many vendors, which made the night special for so many folks – including Ashley Furniture, Central File Marketing, Whirlpool, Symbol Mattress Company, L2, You Name It, Catnapper/Jackson, United Furniture, Reliance Bedding, Kangaroo, New Classic, Gemini, and O’Rourke.
