2017 Scholarship Recipient Thankful for APRO’s Education Foundation

2017 Scholarship Recipient LeKendric Castion
In August, APRO, TRIB Group and state rental dealer associations in Florida, Kansas, Missouri and Tennessee awarded 49 students more than $115,000 in college scholarships as part of the APRO Education Foundation’s Scholarship Fund. This year, one of the recipients, LeKendric Castion, was awarded his first scholarship, courtesy of The Tennessee Rental Dealers Association, and has hit the ground running his first semester in college. Hailing from Memphis, Tennessee, Castion currently attends Tuskegee University in Alabama, where he is pursuing a bachelor of science in Biology. He strives for a 3.0 grade point average or higher and has joined several on-campus organizations—the Underclassmen Leadership Academy, the Tuskegee University Health Committee and the Biology Pre-Health Club—specifically targeted to build and improve leadership capabilities and social skills in a collegiate environment. The APRO Education Foundation’s Scholarship has assisted Castion by funding toward Fall tuition as well as out-of-pocket expenses such as textbooks for courses he is enrolled in for the upcoming semester. “I would personally like to thank APRO for giving me a chance to receive this scholarship,” says Castion. “You are truly making a difference—in the world and in my life—for others who, like me, are unable to afford college on their own. So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.” Click here to donate or read more about APRO’s Education Foundation’s Scholarship Fund. Click here to see the 2017 Rent-to-Own Scholarship Recipients.
