“Not only is Omaha our state’s most populous city, but the Omaha metro area recently passed one-million residents, making it bigger than Miami, New Orleans, or Wichita. There’s tons to see, do, and consume here – but what folks might enjoy most are the people. The good souls of Omaha know how to treat guests, and you’re bound to fall in love with the spirit of service you’ll encounter during RTO World, as well as the city itself!”

Omaha Cuisine

We’ve got no beef with Omaha – because Omaha’s got plenty for us all!
Omaha’s obsession with the taste for cattle began when the Union Stockyards of Omaha were founded in 1883. The Stockyards were a fierce rival of Chicago’s Union Stock Yards, and gradually grew until Omaha overtook Chicago as America’s largest livestock market and meat-packing industry center in 1955, a title it held until 1971. The 116-year-old institution closed in 1999, but Omaha’s steakhouse culture lives on in a big, bovine way!
Even beyond steak, Omaha is considered a “foodie city” with a thriving culinary scene – known for being the birthplace of the Reuben sandwich, diverse ethnic restaurants, and local and farm-to-table cuisine. The city has been named a “Next Great Food City” by Food & Wine and ranked among top foodie cities by Livability.
