Rent-2-Own Opens Satellite Store in Chillicothe, OH

Ohio Rental Dealers Association President and Countryside Rentals, dba Rent-2-Own Owner Mike Tissot opens first satellite store in Chillicothe, OH. Rent-2-Own has been around for more than two decades and is still growing with 33 locations and over 300 employees, serving more than 17,000 customers. Tissot opened the first of two satellite Rent-2-Own stores on Friday, June 23rd located on 20 Executive Center Drive. The satellite store concept is a smaller location meant to provide the same R2O product and services to customers outside of their successful markets. Satellite stores have a “mother” store where inventory, expense, and revenue is shared which keep costs to a minimum providing an opportunity for increased revenue. “There is a population of around 22,000 people in Chillicothe with a median household income of $38,000. This is our customer. We decided to put a satellite store on the west side of town to reach those customers going to our competitors because they don’t want to travel to our mother store,” shared R2O Communications Manager Jess Mahon. The satellite stores display R2O’s mattress selection, appliances, electronics, and have several booths where customers can browse online or through store catalogs. The satellite store and mother store communicate and share a delivery team that offers same day delivery.

The second R2O satellite location is in Flemingsburg, KY with its mother store in Maysville, KY. The doors for that store also opened in June. “Same concept here, Flemingsburg is south of Maysville and is in our delivery area so we wanted to reach those people,” said Mahon.

Mike Tissot

Countryside Rentals Inc., dba Rent-2-Own

Mike grew up in the rent-to-own industry under the guidance of his father, former APRO President and RTO legend Darrell Tissot. For nearly 25 years, Mike’s innovative leadership has helped expand the family business to more than 40 stores across Ohio and Kentucky while also shaping the industry as a whole.

He has served as President of the Ohio Rental Dealers Association, an APRO board member and Treasurer, and President and Treasurer of the TRIB Group. His contributions have earned him the APRO President’s Award of Excellence and the title of APRO Rental Dealer of the Year.

Outside of RTO, Mike enjoys time at the lake house or in Orange Beach, Alabama, with his girlfriend, Angela Strong McCool. A passionate Cincinnati Reds fan, he rarely misses a game, whether watching or listening alongside his parents. He also takes every opportunity to visit Arizona, where his daughter is currently attending Arizona State University.
