Shelley Martinek, APRO’s member services director, recently won the Professional Excellence Award from the Texas Society of Association Executives (TSAE). As TSAE states, the award “recognizes those who have made exceptional contributions to one’s trade association,” and everyone in APRO can attest that she is certainly deserving of such recognition! Martinek, who has been on the APRO staff for 28 years, is accredited as a certified meeting professional through TSAE and has long been active in that association.

“Shelley does it all at APRO,” says Bill Keese, APRO’s executive director. “Our meetings are flawlessly engineered and our members are treated to immediate responses from Shelley—always with a heartwarming smile.”

“Shelley and I have worked together for 27 years to put on the best convention possible for our members,” says Cindy Ferguson CEM/CMP, APRO’s marketing director. “She is so deserving of the recognition.”

Martinek was presented the honor on September 12 in San Antonio during TSAE’s annual convention.
