NEW PODCAST: Herb Carlson and rent-to-own cookware
Refrigerators, washing machines and big screen plasmas are some of the first items that come to mind when discussing rent-to-own inventory.
Lawnmowers, wheels and tires, jewelry, computers and an assortment of high tech gismos have rapidly gained ground in the industry over the years, proving that no item is off limits to the rent-to-own dealer.

Vendor Herb Carlson is part of that innovative trend.
Carlson is a sales representative with Ginsu Knives and Kinetic Cookware and hopes to make high quality cookware and cutlery as much a staple of the rent-to-own product line as some of these once new, now commonplace products.
"It’s sort of a perfect marriage," Carlson says. "Because people who rent ranges need cookware. We’ve found in most cases, people tend to keep the cookware until they own it and it doesn’t come back. We were pleasantly surprised by that and most dealers have been very successful with it."
Carlson is one of 13 new vendors at the Heartland of America Regional Trade Show in Lake Ozark, Missouri.
