Four new congressmen join RTO bill

Four new U.S. Congressmen today, officially joined the Congressional Record in support of H.R. 1744 — The Consumer Rental Purchase Agreement Act.

Rep. Spencer Bachus [AL], Lincoln Davis [TN], Thomas Perriello [VA] and Joe Wilson [SC] bring the number of co-sponsors for the U.S. House version of the RTO industry defining legislation to 113 and are the first to join since Sept. 2009 when Congress began its running health care reform debate.

Rep. Bachus is the minority ranking member of the U.S. House Financial Services Committee — the committee of jurisdiction for H.R. 1744. Bachus becomes the 24th member of this powerful committee to support the legislation. He is and ex-officio member of the House Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit.

The Senate version of the Consumer Rental Purchase Agreement Act  — S. 738 — currently has 15 co-sponsors.
