ColorTyme’s biggest gets bigger: TLH Enterprises opens second Corpus Christi store

TLH Enterprises, owner of more than 40 ColorTyme stores, opens its second store today in the “sparkling city by the sea,” Corpus Christi, Texas.
“I have been working for TLH and ColorTyme for about 10 years,” said store manager Stella Griffin. “I was from San Angelo, Texas, but I moved to Corpus Christi to be closer to family. When TLH presented me with the opportunity to help open a brand new store in Corpus, I immediately jumped at the chance. The atmosphere in this city is exciting – it has so much potential.”
The new store, located at 4232 Ayers Street in the Portairs Shopping Center, is close to several of ColorTyme’s rent-to-own competitors. But, that doesn’t worry Griffin.
“We’re actually located right next door to a Rent-A-Center store," Griffin said. "But, our location is in an area that’s centered where a lot of our clients live and work. It’s fast-paced, challenging and I love it. Our ColorTyme showroom floor provides a wonderful, higher-end level of product choice – ranging from starter to very elegant. It’s not just your average furniture, electronics, appliances and computers. We offer the best.”
Griffin takes a great amount of pride in how her store approaches customer service. The staff’s upbeat attitude and high energy allows for Griffin to offer a fresh approach to rent-to-own sales.
“We care about and pay attention to our customers,” Griffin said. “We want to make sure that their needs are met, with the product we deliver. It’s about listening to what they say and recognizing their needs. When someone walks into our store, they’ll be ‘wowed’ immediately because of our energy level. We’re going to treat the customer right and just talk to them, get to know them.”
Although the store’s official grand opening celebration will be scheduled soon, Griffin and her crew are already experiencing heavy customer traffic. “We have a big store and can’t wait to get involved with the community here.
“TLH is ColorTyme’s largest franchisee,” Griffin said. “The company, based in Corsicana, Texas, is very family-oriented and great to work for. The owner, Mike Harwood, and Chris Higgs, the president, do so much for us all.”
TLH Enterprises was co-founded by Mike Harwood with the acquisition of three stores in Texas. Today, the company has more than 40 ColorTyme stores in Texas and New Mexico.
“We’re very excited about opening the new store in Corpus,” Higgs said. “Customers will want to meet Stella and her team. They are going to provide a quality product, at a great price, while also providing exceptional customer service.”
