Are you paying attention to the ‘Millennial’ generation?
The 92 million Millenial Americans are today’s largest generation. Millenials are defined as those who were born between 1981 to 2002. A National Journal telephone and on-line survey examined the views of the Millenials. The survey results can help business better adapt to the generation power-to-be whether as consumers, employees or employers. Here are some statistics and observations from the survey:
They would rather stay with one employer that provides stability than job hop.
They are more inclined to volunteer for charitable causes and look for businesses that do so.
They are the generation most affected by the ‘Great Recession’ therefore look to save money, pay off debt while distrustful of retirement plans.
Nearly 1 in 5 say they would like to open their own business.
More than 50% are unsure whether College helps or is worth the money.
