This Rent to Own Audio Podcast brought to you by APRO's RTOHQ.org

Lyn Leach is the vice president of TRIB Group a past president of the Association of Progressive Rental Organizations and owner of 14 Ace Rent-To-Own stores in Nebraska and Iowa.

Leach started in the rent-to-own industry in 1982. In addition to his vice presidency, Leach also chairs TRIB's electronics committee, is in his fifth year as a board member and continues to be an active member of APRO.

In this exclusive podcast, Leach discusses TRIB's explosive growth over the past year that has gained the rent-to-own buying group 29 new member companies -- the largest growth spurt the group has seen in the last 10 -- and how TRIB's strategic alliance with retail mega-buyer AVB-BrandSource has contributed to that.

Leach serves on the AVB-BrandSource Board of Directors.

"We're now a part of not just a multi-million dollar buying group but a multi-billion dollar buying group," Leach said. "We've been able to partner with AVB-BrandSource in bringing our overall costs down and It gave us so many more options particularly in the availability of lines of electronics that weren't available to us before."

Leach also explains why he thinks the time is right for Congress to pass the Consumer Rental Purchase Agreement Act, soon to be re-introduced into the House of Representatives.

"The fact that our bill is really a consumer protection bill is right up this Congress' alley," Leach said. "With all the consumer protection parts that are a part of our bill, this is the first bill in at least a dozen years that we stand this good a chance at passing our federal legislation. The fact that we've got Rep. William Lacy Clay introducing our bill and fact that this is his bill and he has passion for this bill...I think that gives this bill legs like it hasn't had before."
