Rent to own Audio & Podcasts: Kevin Quinn, Quality Rentals
Kevin Quinn is the owner of 20 Quality Rentals rent-to-own stores and two RNR Custom Wheels and Tires stores, all in Washington.
Kevin, a past president of the Association of Progressive Rental Organizations, has been a TRIB Group member since the mid 1990's. Quinn has seen the industry through a number of phases. As a 6-year president of APRO in the early 1990's, Quinn presided over one of the most tumultuous periods in the history of the rent-to-own industry in which it was targeted by both Congress and the IRS. In this exclusive podcast, Quinn revisits some of the industry's triumphs during that period and discusses the prospects of the industry's federal legislative effort this session. "The best issue we have on tap right now is the economic issue of jobs," Quinn said. "If we were legislated out of business, all the vendors and the jobs at the store level and the distributors and the shipping companies, Congress doesn't want to see those jobs gone." Quinn said the unique character of the transaction deserves a hearing and remains its greatest strength. What I've always tried to impress to anyone who is a critic of our business is what is the value of a transaction that the customer can get and out of without incurring any debt," Quinn said. "That is something I think Congress needs to hear about, especially today." | ||||
