TRIB Hot Show posts $3.6 million, vendors honored

Bidding frenzy at the TRIB Hot Show Sunday. The rent-to-own buying group wrote $3.6 million in purchase orders at this "pre-buying show" event.

TRIB Group, the rent-to-own industry's seminal buying group, jump started its convention and buying show in Dallas Sunday, by racking up $3.6 million worth of purchase orders during the group's annual "Hot Show" auction.

Around 400 rent-to-own dealers and vendors packed the Coronado Ballroom at the Hilton Anatole Hotel for a cocktail reception and to take part in the rally in which limited quantities of some 40 items were offered at exclusive deep discounts.

TRIB Boardmember Lyn Leach of Ace Rent-To-Own pitched the merchandise as waves of bidder paddles washed over the crowd buying out item after item. And they were chosen by TRIB to do just that.

"We had over 80 product offers and in the end we only accepted 40 for the Hot Show because we knew these were smokin' deals," said TRIB Boardmember Shannon Strunk of Baber's. "We like to zero in on what's specific to the rental industry."
