Rent-to-own News - The Premier Companies launches new online training toolThe Premier Companies held its annual Premier Companies’ Dealer Retreat, August 19-21, at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine, Texas. Trooper Earle, President and CEO of The Premier Companies, opened the meeting by sharing his commitment to helping Premier dealers grow their business.
On the final day of the Dealer Retreat, a new updated Premier University was released to the dealers. Training your employees is critical in running a successful business and Laura Emerson, Executive Director of PRPMG, is building Premier University one book at a time. This virtual university contains more than 70 educational modules on a bookshelf in the University Library.
Dealers can customize and build their own training curriculum with the modules they feel will be most effective for their employees. Employees, or students, log into Premier University to access the training program that was designed for them. There are many very interesting features built into the University such as a notepad for students to touch and drag important pieces of a training book onto the notepad as if you were
writing actual notes.
“We’ve made great strides in technology and it’s very exciting to be able to offer
our dealers these types of tools and support to help them with their success,” said Trooper.
Structure is needed for running a business, and Premier University is one more tool for dealers to develop and thrive with that structure for their employees. This is just another one of the attractive benefits of being a Premier franchisee.
The national office of The Premier Companies is located in Williamsburg, Virginia. Premier Brands consist of Premier Rental-Purchase, Premier Home Furnishings, Premier Wheel Workz, Premier Auto by Rent. All Premier stores are independently owned and operated. Visit Premier’s website at www.premierrents.net or call 800/2-Premier and ask for Trooper Earle.

A New Rent-to-Own Experience by Neil Ferguson Here’s the lowdown on APRO’s 2012 Convention and Trade Show, July 24-26 in Memphis. The RTO industry’s big event will offer many valuable experiences, including insights on how to turn your stores into “experiences”–the good kind for consumers
Who Is Your Competition? by Bill Keese In order to expand your customer base, you can learn a lot by observing your competitors. But first, you need to figure out just who they are. If you think your only competition is the rent-to-own store down the street, you’re not considering the bigger picture. APRO’s executive director offers a big-picture perspective.
A Review of Online Customer Complaints by Ed Winn III While rent-to-own companies have not cornered the market on negative reviews posted on consumer complaint websites, it’s no surprise that there are cyberspace beefs against RTO. APRO’s general counsel reviews some of them in search of a pattern and he considers appropriate response to online complaints.
Rent-to-Own Families, Part VIII by Kristen Card Our series of family-run rent-to-own businesses continues with profiles of the Homeiers in Kansas and two Texas-based sets of kindred colleagues, the Spangles and the Weisblatts.
