Former APRO President Strunk elected to TRIB Board

Shannon Strunk

Former APRO President Shannon Strunk joined the TRIB Board of Directors Tuesday after winning election during TRIB's annual membership meeting in Dallas.

TRIB members at that meeting -- which was held at the group's "Silver at the Summit" tradeshow and convention -- also re-elected current board president Ernie Lewallen and Lyn Leach to three year terms on the nine-member board.

"I'm very excited to be able to serve in the industry again," Strunk said. "There's really only two organizations in the industry that really serve the industry, APRO and TRIB, so it was a natural."

TRIB officers are scheduled for election at the March 20 membership meeting, also here in Dallas.

Lyn Leach

Strunk, who, with his wife Cynthia Baber-Strunk, owns and operates Baber, Inc. which includes 56 Baber and Rent-n-Roll stores across three states. Strunk, who has over 20 years experience in the rent-to-own industry, most recently served as president  of the APRO Board of Directors.

As president of the Missouri Rental-Dealers Association, Strunk initiated successful passage of the Mississippi Rental-Purchase Legislation of 1995, and is an active participant in the APRO Legislative Conference where he has met with numerous congressmen and senators to educate them about the rent-to-own industry.

Ernie Lewallen

Leach and Lewallen are also past APRO board presidents.

Leach, who has over 26 years in the rent-to-own business, owns eleven Ace Rent-to-Own stores in Nebraska. Leach has served on the TRIB Board for the past three years.

Lewallen, a 27-year rent-to-own veteran is the owner of the ten-store UHR Rents company. He also owns Rent-n-Roll Cincinnati which will open its third store this month.

Lewallen was first elected to the TRIB Board in 2001 and is its current president.
