Should you be "staging?" Take the APRO staging survey!

Slumping home sales may have depressed other areas of the economy, but for the rent-to-own industry, a bloated housing market could translate into a dynamic new revenue stream.

Home staging is a growing industry built on the concept of preparing a home for sale in order get top dollar and sell it quickly, according to Barb Schwarz founder and creator of the International Association of Home Staging Professionals (IAHSP).

Schwarz's company, Accredited Staging Professionals will hold its annual home staging conference July 16-19 in Bellevue Washington. Around 400 stagers controlling over $20 million worth of spending decisions this year are expected.

With a burgeoning housing stock to unload, realtors are turning to stagers to give their empty homes that special touch, look and feel to inspire higher more competitive bids in a shorter time frame. And where do stagers turn to find the selection, quality and payment options to satisfy their short term furnishing needs?

The answer increasingly is the rent-to-own industry.
