RimTyme stores roll out car shows for charity

 Shawn DiLeo

Supporting local charities is more than a yearly plan for RimTyme owner; it’s a promise.

Owner Shawn DiLeo and his staff are staying committed to their giving efforts by hosting a series of car shows in September with all proceeds from the events going toward local charities.

Event dates and charities are as follows:

1. Indianapolis, IN RimTyme on Sept. 11th (all proceeds benefit the Riley Hospital for Children)

2. Lexington, KY RimTyme on Sept. 17th (all proceeds benefit the Hope Center)

3. Columbus, OH RimTyme on Sept. 24th (all proceeds benefit Nationwide Children’s Hospital)

“We are more than happy to donate our time and proceeds to these charities," DiLeo said. "I personally believe the more people we can help, the more good it does for the community and our store. It’s all about ‘People Helping People’, which is a motto we live by. Plus, supporting others makes us feel good, and demonstrating a positive image means a lot to our customers.”

Taking place at DiLeo's RimTyme stores, the car shows will feature trophies for each class of vehicles, door prizes, 50/50 raffles, free food and more. DiLeo feels that the event will bring people together for a greater good in the community.

“We’re really excited to get the neighborhood together and it will be a great day full of impressive rides and fun for the entire family," DiLeo said. "Our goal is to showcase a collection of more than 100 cars at the event, so we invite car enthusiasts and dealers to get involved. Best of all, it’s for a good cause."

Who Is Your Competition?

by Bill Keese

In order to expand your customer base, you can learn a lot by observing your competitors. But first, you need to figure out just who they are. If you think your only competition is the rent-to-own store down the street, you’re not considering the bigger picture. APRO’s executive director offers a big-picture perspective.

A Review of Online Customer Complaints

by Ed Winn III

While rent-to-own companies have not cornered the market on negative reviews posted on consumer complaint websites, it’s no surprise that there are cyberspace beefs against RTO. APRO’s general counsel reviews some of them in search of a pattern and he considers appropriate response to online complaints.
