American Rental's Innovation Expo kicks off tomorrow

The Full-O-Pep/American Rental weekend of events kicks off tomorrow at the Seasons Resort Hotel in Nashville, Indiana with a vendor showcase where around 35 vendor companies will get up close and personal with American Rental managers and sales associates who will learn the ins and outs of the latest furniture, electronics, and appliance products.

Some 130 American Rental employees will be on hand for the event which continues Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

A golf tournament will close out the day Friday.

Company officials will take a break from the show Saturday for a bit of philanthropy when they will dedicate a Habitat for Humanity house to a local Brown County family that was funded though contributions from APRO, Ashley, United Furniture and Welton USA among others, and sweat equity from American Rental volunteers headed up by district manager Dennis Adams.

More than $50,000 was raised through the effort.

American Rentals general manager David David won a $1,000 cash prize at the APRO Convention in Louisville in 2010 and that became the seed money for the new Habitat house.

The company picnic kicks off Saturday afternoon with dozens of games, rides and amusements for the more than 300 employees and family expected who operate the company's 48 American Rental and Rent-N-Roll stores.

In traditional fashion, the picnic will close with an epic fireworks display.

Who Is Your Competition?

by Bill Keese

In order to expand your customer base, you can learn a lot by observing your competitors. But first, you need to figure out just who they are. A Review of Online Customer Complaints

by Ed Winn III
