A Consumer's Guide to Finding Guide to the Right Rent to own Electronics

Many consumers new to the rent to own industry are uncertain about what rent-to own entails. Here some industry tips to get you thinking before you walk into your local rent to own store.

 

Let's separate fact from fiction, so that you can find the rent to own electronics, from televisions to computers, which are right for you.


Who are rent to own clients?

 

There is no specific rent to own client. They represent different races, sexes and socioeconomic backgrounds from all over the world. Rent to own clients are:


  • families
  • couples
  • individuals
  • businesses professionals on short-term relocations
  • regular people like you!


General facts about rent to own



  • There is no credit extension in a rent-to own transaction. Typically payments are made weekly or monthly. Unlike a credit card, you accrue no interest.
  • There is no credit check in a rent to own agreement. Many families under temporary financial stress or with lower credit ratings would otherwise be unable to obtain household electronics without the rent to own business model.
  • Rent to own electronics can be returned anytime without a penalty. This is a distinguishing feature of the rent to own business. For example, think of the harsh penalties when leasing a car for terminating a contract or mile overage. Rent to own clients can return merchandise whenever they like.
  • Replacement merchandise, repairs and delivery are included. Many consumers chose rent to own merchandise in order to alleviate worry over aging electronics or costly repairs.


What types of rent to own electronics are on the market today?

 



Start a dialogue with your local rent to own provider

 

When you're ready to make a decision start a conversation with the rent to own staff in your area. Asking questions ahead of time ensures that the rent to own a positive experience for all parties involved.


  • What's your history with electronic equipment? (e.g. Do you like to have the newest electronics? Have you ever had to repair home electronics?)
  • What is a reasonable amount to spend on electronics each month? Make a budget.
  • Do you plan to purchase your electronics at the end of your contract?
