Rent-to-own News - Premier Companies expect record attendance at upcoming convention

December 20, 2011

Record attendance is expected for The Premier Companies 2012 National Convention January 9-11 at the Casa Marina Resort in Key West.

Attendees will have the option of participating in a Golf Tournament or Deep Sea Fishing adventure on Monday, the day of the opening evening reception.

Premier franchisees, vendors and special guests are sure to enjoy the ocean view and swaying palm trees at the opening event, setting the stage for the Welcome Reception and the Convention.

Mark Gow, a nationally known motivational speaker, will address the audience during the General Session. Mark will share his ideas on how to help dealers better understand how to improve their stores performance through more effective leadership. Mark will also discuss what motivation really means and how to communicate in a way to make others more receptive to your ideas.

Tuesday evening always ends the day with a very memorable event! Larkin Mott, The Premier Companies Events Coordinator, has planned an unforgettable Sunset Cruise followed by a Beach Reception.  “I always like to surprise the Convention attendees with a fun and memorable evening. I’m sure this one will meet their expectations”, commented Larkin.

After a day of educational breakout sessions, the Awards Banquet will be held Wednesday evening to recognize the Top Performers within the Premier Family and to announce the 2011 Dealer of the Year Award.

“I really look forward to the Awards Banquet,"  said Trooper Earle, President & CEO of The Premier Companies. "That’s the real time of celebration for me. It is very rewarding seeing the success of our stores and to be able to congratulate the dealers in person.”

Questions regarding the Premier National Convention can be directed to John Darden at  JohnDarden@premierrents.com.

The national office of The Premier Companies is located in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Who Is Your Competition?

by Bill Keese

In order to expand your customer base, you can learn a lot by observing your competitors. But first, you need to figure out just who they are. If you think your only competition is the rent-to-own store down the street, you’re not considering the bigger picture. APRO’s executive director offers a big-picture perspective.

A Review of Online Customer Complaints

by Ed Winn III

While rent-to-own companies have not cornered the market on negative reviews posted on consumer complaint websites, it’s no surprise that there are cyberspace beefs against RTO. APRO’s general counsel reviews some of them in search of a pattern and he considers appropriate response to online complaints.
