September 26, 2007

Former APRO Board member and Treasurer Terry Beville of Buddy’s Home Furnishing in Tampa, Florida, unveiled preliminary results from the 2007 Rent-to-Own Statistical Survey to a ballroom-sized crowd gathered for the All-Industry Roundtable on September 26 during the APRO Convention and Buying Show in Reno, Nevada. Some of the highlights of the 2007 survey results are:

  • The average store size has grown to 6,149 square feet
  • The average rent dealers pay is $9.49 per square foot
  • The average number of customers per store is 359.5
  • The average monthly gross revenue per store has grown to $59,703 in 2006 from $52,991 in 2005
  • The number of companies who accept rental payments online is 4.6 percent

Other useful numbers presented by Beville included average salaries for regional managers, store manager and drivers, as well as average company and customer growth. Copies of the survey are available free to those who complete it. Beville announced that the deadline to complete the survey has been extended and encouraged those who did not yet participate to do so now. You can access the survey online here.
