But if you want your ad or community relations program included in this year's Rental Advertising Excellence Awards (RAE) awards competition, you don't have time to waste.

The RAE submission deadline is June 30,  so click here to learn more and download an entry form.

APRO is once again honoring the best radio, television, print, direct market and Internet advertising campaigns created for rent-to-own businesses and companies over the past year.

Once received, submissions will be judged by Matt Belew, media supervisor at GSD&M of Austin, Texas -- one of the largest and most influential advertising agencies in the world.

Recognized as the number one source of public perception and image, advertising is a critical component in telling the rent-to-own story and RAE submissions will be divided and judged in two seperate production categories: "in house" or "ad agency".

The "Community Relations Program" category of RAE is of particular interest to the industry and encompasses food drives, donations and volunteerism undertaken by rent-to-own companies.

The ultimate goal of the RAE awards is to boost the notion of the important role advertising plays in creating a positive image of the rent-to-own industry.

Winners will be honored in APRO publications and at the APRO 2008 Convention and Buying Show awards banquet in St. Louis, Missouri.

Who Is Your Competition?

by Bill Keese

In order to expand your customer base, you can learn a lot by observing your competitors. But first, you need to figure out just who they are. A Review of Online Customer Complaints

by Ed Winn III
