MRDA to elect officers, brush up on customer service

Outgoing MRDA President "Tiger" John Cleek Jr.

Close to 100 Missouri Rental Dealers Association members representing 15 different RTO Companies are registered for tomorrow's annual general membership meeting at the Hampton Inn in Columbia, Missouri where attendees will elect a new board and new officers.

"Tiger" John Cleek Jr., who has held the MRDA presidency for the past four years, will lead his final meeting Wednesday. He notes improvements to the Heartland Trade Show as one of the proudest achievements during his tenure.

"The Heartland Tradeshow in general was already top notch, but the addition of the training seminars helped really take it to another level," Cleek said. "It made it a complete tradeshow. This year we hope to incorporate a 45 minute to one hour roundtable discussion as well to give our store level managers that experience."

Cleek will continue on the board in the role of "immediate past president."

Participants Wednesday will also hear from immediate APRO Past President  "Tiger" John Cleek regarding federal legislative issues relating to the rent to own industry. Jim Durham will provide a state of Missouri legislative update followed by a seminar on customer service and accommodating diversity from popular business speaker Kelly McDonald, president of McDonald Marketing.

Board and officer elections will close out the meeting.

Who Is Your Competition?

by Bill Keese

In order to expand your customer base, you can learn a lot by observing your competitors. But first, you need to figure out just who they are. A Review of Online Customer Complaints

by Ed Winn III
