Rent-to-own News - Mike Neighbours joins SED International

SED International, a leading consumer electronics distributor, today announced the hiring of industry veteran Mike Neighbours as Sales Manager for its rent-to-own division.

Neighbours was previously National Account Manager and Regional Sales Manager for Philips Consumer Electronics, where he was employed for 22 years. Prior experience includes various roles with major consumer electronics manufacturers and as founder/president of Audio Marketing Associates, a manufacturer’s representation firm. 

“SED is uniquely positioned to grow their CE business dramatically during a time of significant changes in the industry,” said Neighbours. “It is exciting to be a part of that and to work with a group of great people dedicated to make that happen.”

SED is a key supplier of Televisions, Home Theater, and other consumer electronics products, in addition to both desktop and notebook computers, to the Rent-To-Own industry. Headquartered in the Atlanta, Georgia area, SED serves dealers through one of four locations throughout the United States.

"Mike will provide SED with big league experience in our CE business plus will be our lead sales manager for the RTO channel,” said Tom Roper, vice president & general manager of consumer electronics for SED. “He is and will continue to be very active with APRO, TRIB, and Rent Direct and will now have access to a strong list of brands, such as JVC, Samsung, LG, Sansui, Audiovox, and computers from Acer and ASUS."
 
SED is known for providing high levels of service to its customers, and has established rent-to-own specific programs including "parts replacement" and "channel specific bundles". Neighbours will work directly with rent-to-own dealers to help them grow their business, identifying needs and developing new programs to increase sales and profit for SED customers.
