KHF Holdings Announces Fifth Ashley HomeStore Grand Opening

Chris Caprio

Defying trends of a struggling economy and slack consumer spending, KHF Holdings, LLC today announced the Grand Opening of its newest Ashley Furniture HomeStore location in Castleton, Indiana.

The grand opening celebration is scheduled for Saturday March 5th at 1:00 pm at 8708 Castle Creek Parkway East Drive, Indianapolis IN, 46250.

Louisville-based KHF Holdings has been fortunate enough to buck the trends of the troubled economy and expand their operation with the Grand Opening of their fifth Ashley Furniture HomeStore.

“We realize we wouldn’t where we are today without our loyal customer base and for that, we are thankful,” said Chris Caprio, President and CEO of KHF Holdings LLC. Caprio is also president of the Kentucky Rental Dealers Association.

He said he looks for the economic recovery to also fuel a continued upswing in home furnishings.  KHF Holdings is committed to grow with and help sustain the regions in which they operate.

“We are pleased to have generated about 25 new retail jobs as we launch the store’s operations,” Caprio said. "Overall, KHF workforce is comprised of nearly 160 employees."

Ashley Furniture HomeStores have been locally owned and operated in Louisville, Kentucky since 2004 and in Indianapolis, Indiana since 2005.  KHF’s locations pride themselves on selling only furniture that is made by Ashley Furniture Industries, the largest home furnishings manufacturer in the United States and the #1 selling brand in North America.

KHF closed their doors in nearby Carmel, IN almost a year ago and remained eager to get back into the Northern Indianapolis marketplace.

“We couldn’t be more excited to once again open our doors to such a great community,” explains Caprio. “Shortly after our liquidation sale in Carmel we began looking for a new location in the area.  We plan to offer a slightly smaller showroom and open the space in two phases to keep our products fresh.”

Phase 1 of the Grand Opening will carve out a 20,000 square foot showroom of Ashley furniture, home décor and mattresses.  The second phase of the Grand Opening will add an additional 15,000 square feet of showroom to display more product and give customers an opportunity to have a great furniture selection and positive furniture experience closer to home.

The Grand Opening celebration begins at 1:00 pm on March 5th with a day full of free food, fun, activities and giveaways.

KHF Holdings LLC is based in Louisville, Kentucky and is the licensee of five Ashley Furniture Homestores in Louisville and Indianapolis.  Current locations include Outer Loop/Jefferson-Pavilion, KY; Jeffersontown, KY; Avon, IN; Greenwood, IN; Castleton, IN; and an Ashley Furniture Distribution Center.

Who Is Your Competition?

by Bill Keese

In order to expand your customer base, you can learn a lot by observing your competitors. But first, you need to figure out just who they are. If you think your only competition is the rent-to-own store down the street, you’re not considering the bigger picture. APRO’s executive director offers a big-picture perspective.

A Review of Online Customer Complaints

by Ed Winn III

While rent-to-own companies have not cornered the market on negative reviews posted on consumer complaint websites, it’s no surprise that there are cyberspace beefs against RTO. APRO’s general counsel reviews some of them in search of a pattern and he considers appropriate response to online complaints.
