Rent-to-own News - DAC touts new products at APRO show

August 27, 2009

DAC Products, maker of electronics merchandising displays will be exhibiting again at this year’s APRO show in Las Vegas in booth #812.

“We are focused on the RTO industry and their needs so we are introducing several new designs intended specifically for them," said Todd Woods, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for DAC. "We will also be writing orders for products in our Quick Ship stocking program, which allows you to receive many of our standard items in just a few days. DAC’s customers don’t have to wait four or more weeks to receive their displays."

You will want to have your orders ready to place as DAC will be offering additional discounts on their already competitive prices and these reductions are only effective on orders placed at the show.  Woods also mentioned that they will be selling their APRO show booth items for “give-away prices”.

“We will not be shipping them back to North Carolina.  Hopefully someone who is driving to the show will come prepared to take some nice displays back home with them,"  Woods said.

DAC has recently launched several innovative new products for the RTO industry.  Some of these creations will be displayed in their booth.  The new “All in One” Display has multiple uses for merchandising including desktop computers, laptops, TVs, games, and other electronics.  This versatile four foot unit can be used next to the wall, as a standalone floor display, or grouped together to create a dynamic island capable of merchandising a large number of products in a small space.

DAC has also developed and will be demonstrating a new 24” wide Audio Visual Display Wall.  This latest version of their TV merchandising system is geared for rent to own stores because it accommodates shelves, favored by the industry.  This allows stores the ease of removing and re-stocking product.  The system also provides opportunities for graphics and marketing at eye level without taking up additional wall space.  In addition, it is easier to install because of the weight along with forgiving qualities when floors are uneven.

The new 24” Transaction Counter is a smaller version of DAC’s popular Point of Sale Counter program.  It is available in the same standard colors of light cherry, dark cherry, maple, pear wood and black and comes with a locking cash drawer.   This new unit can be configured with other counters and corner sections for just the right amount of flexible checkout area and can also be used as an outpost or greeting podium.

All of these new additions to DAC’s product line will save you money due to their price as well as reduced freight costs and can be coordinated to give tremendous flexibility when outfitting a store.

“We’re always looking for new ways to help our customers show their wares in a professional way while saving them money," said Chris Hodges, DAC’s Business Development Manager. "These new products are great examples of that and add to our already extensive product mix, which allows us to be a single resource for the RTO industry.  We can supply your complete display package along with expert advice on store layout and installation with one phone call.”

DAC manufactures their designs in two facilities totaling over 200,000 square feet in the Winston-Salem area of North Carolina and ships products throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico.  They offer a one stop shop to the RTO industry for complete store merchandising fixtures including Audio Visual Walls, Computer and Gaming Displays, Point of Sale Counters, Security Tools, Accessories, and Graphics.

Who Is Your Competition?

by Bill Keese

In order to expand your customer base, you can learn a lot by observing your competitors. But first, you need to figure out just who they are. If you think your only competition is the rent-to-own store down the street, you’re not considering the bigger picture. APRO’s executive director offers a big-picture perspective.

A Review of Online Customer Complaints

by Ed Winn III

While rent-to-own companies have not cornered the market on negative reviews posted on consumer complaint websites, it’s no surprise that there are cyberspace beefs against RTO. APRO’s general counsel reviews some of them in search of a pattern and he considers appropriate response to online complaints.
