Rent-to-own News - ColorTyme Names Cathy Skula CEOColortyme, America's oldest franchisor of independently owned-and-operated rent-to-own stores, announced the appointment of Cathy Skula to president and CEO, effective January 1, 2012.
Reporting to Rent-A-Center President and Chief Operating Officer Mitch Fadel, Skula succeeds Bob Bloom who left Colortyme in October of this year. "Cathy brings a wealth of experience to a very important position," said Fadel. "We're excited about her new role."

Earning a Bachelor's Degree from Dickinson College in Pennsylvania, Skula also spent a semester studying abroad at the Mendeleev University in Moscow, Russia. She resides in Frisco, Texas with her husband and their 12-year-old twins.
"I'm thrilled at the prospect of spearheading Colortyme's growth," said Skula, who stressed the importance of franchisee and coworker input. "Operational feedback is key to Colortyme's continued success."

Who Is Your Competition? by Bill Keese In order to expand your customer base, you can learn a lot by observing your competitors. But first, you need to figure out just who they are. If you think your only competition is the rent-to-own store down the street, you’re not considering the bigger picture. APRO’s executive director offers a big-picture perspective.
A Review of Online Customer Complaints by Ed Winn III While rent-to-own companies have not cornered the market on negative reviews posted on consumer complaint websites, it’s no surprise that there are cyberspace beefs against RTO. APRO’s general counsel reviews some of them in search of a pattern and he considers appropriate response to online complaints.
