ColorTyme Kicks off Birthday Bash with awards, state of the art trade show

Franchisees learn the latest features on the ColorTyme website from Amy McKinney.

ColorTyme -- the granddaddy of rent-to-own franchising -- officially launched its 30-year anniversary party Monday in the grand ballroom of the Embassy Suites Hotel in Frisco, Texas with recognition of the company's highest achievers and a trade show boasting the latest in high tech gadgetry.

Over 300 rent-to-own dealers, managers and vendors are in town for the two day ColorTyme convention, many of whom were welcomed during yesterday's general session by Mitch Fadel, president of parent company Rent-A-Center, and ColorTyme CEO Bob Bloom.

Bloom said ColorTyme has continued to thrive even in a tough economic climate that has challenged traditional retail sectors.

"A few of the franchisees we brought in over the last 12 months have discovered Rent-to-own is more recession-proof than retail," Bloom said. "Many franchisees looked at the fact we've been in business for 30 years we have a network of over 200 stores owned by 77 franchisees who provide a very valuable experience for other owners. We've got a great story to tell and plan to tell it loud and proud in 2009."

Who Is Your Competition?

by Bill Keese

A Review of Online Customer Complaints

by Ed Winn III
