Rent-to-own News - Blanchard wins Moneris RTO ipod giveawayByron Blanchard of Quality Furniture & Appliance was named the winner in Moneris Solutions RTO Information Portal "Win an iPod" contest.
Blanchard is the proud new recipient of a 16GB Apple iPod touch -- a $400 value.
The contest was launched February 11 in recognition of Moneris' new website dedicated to the RTO industry and advancing the industry's goals of passing rent-to-own legislation, advancing overall RTO perception and improving efficiencies and management of RTO businesses.
Quality Furniture and Appliance has been in business since 1999 and has one location in St. Martinville Louisiana. Blanchard was selected from 17 entrants in the contest, many of whom have consequently signed on as Moneris customers.
"We're really thrilled with the response we got," said David Shelleny, Moneris product/electronic marketing manager. "Our hope is that we can do something like this on a monthly basis. We look forward to letting more rent-to-own dealers get to know us."
Moneris Solutions has a 40-year history as one of North America’s largest electronic transaction processors, with U.S. operations based in Schaumburg, Illinois. The company processes over 2.5 billion transactions a year for over 350,000 merchant services accounts.
Moneris' track record of fostering strong partnerships with rent-to-own industry leaders makes the company uniquely capable of understanding and meeting the needs of the industry. By working with Moneris, rent-to-own merchants can offer a variety of payment options for their customers to enhance service that can increase efficiencies for rent-to-own merchants and convenience for rent-to-own customers.

A New Rent-to-Own Experience by Neil Ferguson Here’s the lowdown on APRO’s 2012 Convention and Trade Show, July 24-26 in Memphis. The RTO industry’s big event will offer many valuable experiences, including insights on how to turn your stores into “experiences”–the good kind for consumers
Who Is Your Competition? by Bill Keese In order to expand your customer base, you can learn a lot by observing your competitors. But first, you need to figure out just who they are. If you think your only competition is the rent-to-own store down the street, you’re not considering the bigger picture. APRO’s executive director offers a big-picture perspective.
A Review of Online Customer Complaints by Ed Winn III While rent-to-own companies have not cornered the market on negative reviews posted on consumer complaint websites, it’s no surprise that there are cyberspace beefs against RTO. APRO’s general counsel reviews some of them in search of a pattern and he considers appropriate response to online complaints.
Rent-to-Own Families, Part VIII by Kristen Card Our series of family-run rent-to-own businesses continues with profiles of the Homeiers in Kansas and two Texas-based sets of kindred colleagues, the Spangles and the Weisblatts.
