Rent-to-own News - Bestway Rent To Own opens 91st location

October 7, 2011

Bestway Rent To Own, based in Dallas, has opened its newest location in Clarksville, Tennessee. The store is considered its flagship store.

“This opening showcases our most innovative store yet, featuring our new interior package with a dynamic paint scheme and new signage," said Kent Clark, CMO of Bestway. "We’re excited to be in the thriving town of Clarksville.”

To celebrate the grand opening, Bestway hosted a variety of events this past weekend, Friday, Sept. 30 – Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011. Several of our vendor partners attended this event to help with customer questions; Jim Thompson with Serta, Mike Kays with Ashley Furniture, and Dennis Francis with Welton USA.  Several prizes were given away during Saturday, which heightened the excitement.

“Clarksville has been on our radar for over five years, we were just patiently waiting for the right location," said Benny Cheek, Bestway RVP of Operations. "We opened the Clarksville store on schedule, August 1st, and it has been successful beyond our dreams.

We were thrilled with the strong Grand Opening event which helped showcase this store,”  “With outstanding team members and an amazing location, we think this store is going to be a favorite rent to own destination for the people of Clarksville."

The weekend was filled with free food and drink, a bounce house for the kids and many specials to entice customers.  The Grand Opening was a success with a record-setting number of new accounts. Bestway sends out a special thanks to the store team in Clarksville – David, Josh, Jennifer, Albert and to our vendors for their support.

Who Is Your Competition?

by Bill Keese

In order to expand your customer base, you can learn a lot by observing your competitors. But first, you need to figure out just who they are. If you think your only competition is the rent-to-own store down the street, you’re not considering the bigger picture. APRO’s executive director offers a big-picture perspective.

A Review of Online Customer Complaints

by Ed Winn III

While rent-to-own companies have not cornered the market on negative reviews posted on consumer complaint websites, it’s no surprise that there are cyberspace beefs against RTO. APRO’s general counsel reviews some of them in search of a pattern and he considers appropriate response to online complaints.
