Rent-to-own News - Aaron's surprises 85-year old Georgia man with housefull of furniture

Aaron's this week, surprised Jessie Farmer, the grand prize winner of Aaron's National Lucky Dog Days Sweepstakes, on Friday morning at her home in Wrens, Georgia, with a houseful of furniture, name-brand appliances and electronics valued at nearly $11,000. Ms. Farmer is 85 years old and has eight children and 47 grandchildren.

Ms. Farmer's prize package included an eight-piece living room group; an eight-piece bedroom group; a 73" Mitsubishi 1080p big screen TV with TV stand; a 42" Panasonic 720p plasma flat panel TV; a Frigidaire 23 cu. ft side by side refrigerator; a Frigidaire front load high efficiency washer/dryer laundry pair; a Compaq laptop; and a Toshiba tablet.

"At Aaron's, our priority is to take care of our customers, and that includes giving back in the form of contests such as the National Lucky Dog Days Sweepstakes," said Tom Peterson, Vice President of Marketing for Aaron's. "We're especially thrilled that Jessie was this year's winner, and we can't imagine a more deserving recipient. We hope that winning the National Lucky Dog Days grand prize is going to brighten the holiday season for Jessie and the many members of her family."

Aaron's, Inc. implemented the National Lucky Dog Days contest in 2009 at Aaron's locations across the U.S. and Canada in effort to give something back to its past, present and potential customers. The Company distributed more than two million letters with unique prize numbers during the contest, which ran from September 29 to October 1.  In addition to Ms. Farmer being chosen as the grand prize winner, 99 prizes were available for giveaway each day.
