Rent-to-own News - Georgia Premier dealer celebrates four years

October 27, 2011

Matt Baker

Many grey hairs ago Matt Baker opened his Premier Rental-Purchase store in Covington, Georgia. He’s now celebrating his 4th year of being in business for himself.

Baker reached out to Trooper Earle, president and CEO of The Premier Companies, four years prior to opening his store and did his research on other rent to own franchise opportunities.

He decided The Premier Companies was the perfect fit for him knowing that he had the flexibility of owning his own store, yet he would have as much or as little support as he wanted from Premier. He continued to be educated by Trooper on what he needed to do to open his own Premier Rental-Purchase location.

Four years later, he called Trooper saying that he was ready and opened his store October 2007.

Matt is motivated by his family and close friends to be successful, in addition to the self satisfaction of supporting his customers.

“I attribute my success to Premier and to the support they offer me.  My store is in a terrific town and I’m blessed with a fantastic staff of employees”, said Matt.  “The personal growth I’ve acquired over the past four years is very rewarding."

The anniversary celebration will take place in November with an Open House by invitation only. Each anniversary Matt shows his appreciation for his customers with a white tablecloth catered dinner and formal dress attire.

The national office of The Premier Companies is located in Williamsburg, Virginia. Premier Brands consist of Premier Rental-Purchase, Premier Home Furnishings, Premier Wheel Workz, and Premier Auto by Rent. All Premier stores are independently owned and operated. Visit Premier’s website at www.premierrents.net or call 800/2-Premier and ask for Trooper Earle.

A New Rent-to-Own Experience

by Neil Ferguson

Here’s the lowdown on APRO’s 2012 Convention and Trade Show, July 24-26 in Memphis. The RTO industry’s big event will offer many valuable experiences, including insights on how to turn your stores into “experiences”–the good kind for consumers

Who Is Your Competition?

by Bill Keese

In order to expand your customer base, you can learn a lot by observing your competitors. But first, you need to figure out just who they are. If you think your only competition is the rent-to-own store down the street, you’re not considering the bigger picture. APRO’s executive director offers a big-picture perspective.

A Review of Online Customer Complaints

by Ed Winn III

While rent-to-own companies have not cornered the market on negative reviews posted on consumer complaint websites, it’s no surprise that there are cyberspace beefs against RTO. APRO’s general counsel reviews some of them in search of a pattern and he considers appropriate response to online complaints.
