Rent-to-own News - New partnership with Tailbase expands Web site solutions for rental dealers

November 3, 2010

Nationwide Marketing Group (NMG), parent company of RentDirect Nationwide, the largest buying and marketing organization representing thousands of appliance, electronics and furniture dealers; announced their new partnership with Tailbase, one of North America’s leading web developers for retailers and manufacturers.

“Our organization represents dealers who own one store to regional chains. This means they all have very different needs when it comes to running their businesses,” said Frank Sandtner, Director of Member Services Operations for NMG. “With the addition of Tailbase to our existing web services, we are ensuring that all of our dealers will have access to the very best options in the market.”

According to Robert Lapointe, President of Tailbase who was onsite at the High Point Furniture Market last week, “Our website solutions are very affordable and we work closely with retailers from building a unique design to providing them with the most compelling content and imagery.”

Lapointe continued, “All of our programs come with 100% technical support and customer service. This sets us apart from other programs out there, where service hours are usually purchased by the client and can add up quickly to a very pricey additional expense.”

Some other perks of working with Tailbase includes their unique Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and Search engine optimization (SEO) strategies which increases the visibility of a website in search engine results. Also, their third party integration and management features.

“Market studies continue to show an increase in the number of consumers who research online before they make a purchase. The question is no longer do you have a website but how effective is your site at attracting customers?” said Sandtner.

Last year, NMG introduced new website solutions offered through ayr1.com, a leading web solution provider offering services worldwide. Their new program with Tailbase will provide NMG dealers with alternative options when choosing or upgrading their websites.

Who Is Your Competition?

by Bill Keese

In order to expand your customer base, you can learn a lot by observing your competitors. But first, you need to figure out just who they are. If you think your only competition is the rent-to-own store down the street, you’re not considering the bigger picture. APRO’s executive director offers a big-picture perspective.

A Review of Online Customer Complaints

by Ed Winn III

While rent-to-own companies have not cornered the market on negative reviews posted on consumer complaint websites, it’s no surprise that there are cyberspace beefs against RTO. APRO’s general counsel reviews some of them in search of a pattern and he considers appropriate response to online complaints.
