Rent-to-own News - Rent-A-Center opens 43rd Oklahoma store, contributes $2K in community grants

November 23, 2009

Rent-A-Center Manager David Testerman is pleased to offer Tahlequah and the surrounding communities a new option when it comes to acquiring ownership of high-quality furniture, appliances, electronics and computers.

“From bedroom sets to washers and dryers, we’re going to help people find what they need and a payment option that works for them,” says Testerman, who will be joined by four co-workers to serve customers.

The newest Rent-A-Center is located at 1741 S. Muskogee Avenue in Tahlequah. The 4,500 sq. ft. showroom features merchandise from brands such as Ashley, Serta, HP, Sony and Whirlpool.

Rent-A-Center makes life manageable for everyday Americans by offering flexible payment options for individuals who want to pay weekly, every two weeks or monthly. No credit is needed, and delivery, set-up and service are included at no extra charge. Customers can also enjoy the convenience of making online payments through rentacenter.com.

The Company offers a lifetime reinstatement, which permits customers to re-rent the same or a comparable item and to pick up payments where they left off. Additionally, for individuals looking to purchase merchandise, Rent-A-Center offers a 90-day ‘same as cash’ policy.

Grants:

To show its appreciation for being welcomed to the Tahlequah community, Rent-A-Center is contributing to two community organizations at the store’s official ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Tahlequah Area Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, November 24 at 10 a.m.

The Tahlequah Library will receive a $1,000 grant to go toward renovations to the library and to purchase financial education materials. The Care Food Pantry will also receive a $1,000 donation.

“We also want to invite the community to visit the store to enter our grand opening drawing for a 46” Sony LCD TV,” says Testerman.  The drawing date will be February 27, 2010.  No purchase is necessary.

The Tahlequah store is the 43rd Rent-A-Center in Oklahoma. The store is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays.  All Rent-A-Center stores are closed on Sundays.

Rent-A-Center (NASDAQ: RCII), headquartered in Plano, Texas, operates more than 3,000 stores in the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada with a focus on home furnishings and financial services. The Company employs approximately 17,735 co-workers. Learn more about us at www.rentacenter.com.
