Rent-to-own News - American Rental product expo, picnic set for July

June 29, 2009

American Rentals General Manager David P. David tries his luck on the mechanical bull at last year's American Rental company picnic.

American Rental, the third largest independent RTO company in the U.S., is gearing up for its 19th annual training expo and company picnic which this year includes 36 participating vendors who will train company employees on the latest in electronics, furniture and appliances at the Seasons Hotel and Conference Center in Nashville, Indiana July 17-18.

The 2009 Rental Product Experience Show is also an opportunity to solicit store and regional manager feedback from the company's now 53 rent-to-own store chain on various products. The event rounds out with a mammoth company picnic, pig roast and fireworks display that routinely draws upwards of 400 employees and their families.

The Bloomington, Indiana-based company family recently grew in Feb. when American Rental acquired four Zion's Rental Purchase stores and added Virginia to its growing territory which also includes the states of Georgia, Tennessee and Kentucky.

"In today’s competitive market, the contact with both potential and current customers is crucial," said American Rental General Manager David P. David in a recent invitation to vendors. "Dealers traditionally attend this Expo to increase our company employees' awareness of products available for rent. This is a prime opportunity for vendors to educate the store managers who ultimately rent your products."

Last year over 60 store and regional managers turned out for the show which also includes the annual American Rental - RNR Invitational Charity Golf Tournament on the lush Salt Creek Golf Resort outside Nashville. The event will benefit Riley Children’s Hospital in Indiana.
