Rent-to-own News - Moody Brothers open Premier store in Mississippi

October 6, 2008

Brothers Chad and Jeffery Moody recently opened a Premier Rental-Purchase store in Columbus, Mississippi, and after their first two months, say they are way ahead of expectations.

Eager to follow a family tradition as entrepreneurs, the Moodys are putting their RTO expertise to use and are excited about their partnership.

“Being entrepreneurs runs in our blood,” Jeffery says. “Our dad was an entrepreneur, our grandfather and our uncles. I planned on it growing up. I’m just shocked because I didn’t know it would come so soon!”

Chad began in the industry after being hired by a major RTO firm and rising from accounts manager to sales manager to store manager – all within eight months. With an emphasis on customer service, he kept customers happy and grew that store nicely.

Jeffery came to work for him to learn the business on and off during college, and they began to build their dream of one day opening an RTO business of their own. The Moodys researched several different RTO franchising companies, both large and small with specific criteria in mind. Rather than being handed a set of corporate rules to follow, they wanted guidelines that would help them get started as well as support in getting set up with an SBA loan and also in purchasing.

“Many companies talked about what they needed. Not what we needed,” says Chad, who knew he needed some handholding when it came time to opening his business. Premier Rental-Purchase emerged as the company that addressed his needs and criteria.

“We have so much leeway in what we can do as owner of a Premier business," Jeffery says. "We can do what we want to, buy products we want to, sell to whom we want. We are not under corporate limitations. We know what works for us and our business. No one is pointing a finger to tell us what to do. It’s so beneficial to work that way.”

Mail marketing, human resources, payroll and health insurance are just a few of the Premier services the Moodys say will give them the ability to not only support their current location but also look ahead toward opening multiple stores.

“I’ve enjoyed working with Premier,” says Jeffery. “I like the idea that there are other store managers and owners we can call. There are 67 other Premier dealers we can call if we need to for any other information.”

The national office of Premier Rental-Purchase is located in Williamsburg, Virginia. All Premier stores are independently owned and operated. Visit Premier’s website at www.premierrents.net or call (800) 2-Premier and ask for Trooper Earle.
